You matter.

You matter.

dearYou Health is a global, youth-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing personalized and culturally-competent mental health support to high school and college students. Our focus is on serving underrepresented communities, including first-generation college students, international students, and LGBTQ+ students. We believe that mental health support should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or identity.

Our mission is to connect and build a bridge between students and a range of mental health services, including traditional therapy, group therapy sessions, art therapy, and mindfulness practices. We partner with on and off-campus counseling services and other mental health companies to provide students with personalized care and connect them with therapists and counselors who understand their cultural experiences. Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive space where students can access mental health support that is culturally-sensitive and empathetic to their backgrounds.

Through our work, we aim to empower students to prioritize their mental health and well-being. We believe that everyone deserves to have access to the mental health support they need to thrive, and we are committed to making that a reality for high school and college students across the country.

dearYou Health was founded in 2021 by Shawn Kim and Ingrid Ma, two healthcare professionals. They realized the need for an international youth-led mental health nonprofit when they lost a close friend from high school to major depression back in 2015. They wanted to create an organization that can make mental health resources more accessible to countries all over the world.

Recently, the pandemic has caused cases of anxiety and depression to soar and the youth mental health crisis to be further exposed. Shawn and Ingrid hope to expand and provide mental health resources for high schools and colleges to encourage students to start engaging in mental health conversations.
